What do our users think of SHARP Records & Plans?
We asked a group of our users to give us their views of SHARP Records & Plans.
Penny Brown - Westbury Nursing Home
"SHARP has been extremely successful especially in a big home (like ours) where continuity is key! It has helped with new nurses to know what is involved in care planning for a ...resident. It's striaghtforward everything [can] be documented"
Leila Sharkey, Operations Director, N Notaro Homes - this user has 6 homes using SHARP
"Overall our care planning has improved ...using SHARP."
Alison Southcott - Camelot House
"SHARP has turned around our care planning in the last four and a half years. Information is easily found, reviews are easier and prompts allow us to fulfill registration requirements. SHARP is a very informative tool to work with..."
Stella Fuszard - Vaughan Lee House
"SHARP Records & Plans is very good..."
Care South - a leading provider of high quality, innovative residential and home care services
“The SHARP care planning system allows us to create care plans that incorporate individual requirements in a clear, user-friendly format. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend SHARP to other care providers looking for an organisational system that puts service users at the heart of care.”
Gill Evans, Group Manager of Westbury Care in Bristol - the company has 6 homes using SHARP
"As Group Manager who introduced SHARP Records & Plans into our 6 homes, I feel we now have a professional system that embraces all documentation needed to satisfy the needs for CQC, service contractors and person centred care. SHARP Records & Plans always provides support if necessary and there is plenty of up date training available. I particularly like the colour coded sections and punctual delivery of paper orders. The main advantage ...is the updating of any forms when necessary and no more photocopying resulting in uneven tatty bits of paper in notes!"
Caroline Baker, Operations Director of Notaro Homes - the company has 6 homes using SHARP:
Notaro Homes use SHARP Records & Plans across all their care homes and were considering using a computerised system in a new home, but have decided to continue with SHARP . Caroline comments:
"The reason we decided to [continue using] SHARP Records & Plans is that the computerised system did not meet the Fundamental Standards as completely as SHARP does. We would not be able to evidence consent or involvement in the system we were shown unless we printed all the plans off which defeats the object!! Also the company we are using [to install our computerised system] looked at SHARP [care planning] paperwork and said “this is fantastic and better than we have ever seen in a care plan”!!!!
The other reason is that staff working across homes where we use SHARP will be able to use it and this will help with best outcomes for people who use our services! And the paperwork is consistent and easy to identify."
Tommy Flannigan of Fairview Court Care Home, Bristol:
"SHARP Records & Plans works for our care home in a number of ways. As a care home providing support for vulnerable older people with a diagnosis of Dementia, SHARP enables staff to construct care plans in a person centred way. This has helped staff in thinking more about a residents wishes rather than solely their perceived needs.
SHARP has brought a structure to care planning and the process ensures that staff consider all aspects of a person's care in a clear and concise manner.
One of the major strengths in using SHARP is its clarity to outside agencies and specialist staff. Continuing healthcare assessors inform us that SHARP gives a much better perspective in their decision making process, providing greater in-depth information."
Nicola Hudson, Blenheim Lodge,Minehead, a SHARP user for 10 years:
"Personally, I like SHARP Records & Plans very much. It is simple and easy to use and, as far as I am aware ticks all the boxes for CQC...[it] is most definitely "user friendly" and ...all our staff have input into them. The training & level of support is good...I have just been to one on the Mental Capacity Act. Cathy is very approachable if you have a problem (she used to be an Inspector for CSCI/CQC).... There were no hiccups when regs changed. Stationery can be ordered at any time. You are issued with files for each resident, all in the package. All in all I am more than happy with the SHARP system and would recommend it to you."
